Legal Studies Minor

The Legal Studies Minor may be appropriate for students majoring in or planning to work in fields that are heavily impacted by law or legal regulations.  This minor is also a good choice for students who are considering law school.  The Legal Studies Minor is not intended to prepare students to work as paralegals and is not approved by the American Bar Association.

 

Minor Requirements


The Legal Studies Minor consists of 24 credits as outlined below.  Twelve (12) of the 24 credits must come from Legal Studies including the required courses LGST 1110 and LGST 1300.  For transfer students, at least 16 of these 24 credits must be taken at Hamline.

Elective courses:


Sixteen (16) additional credits of elective courses are required. At least 4 credits must be legal studies courses; the remaining 12 credits may be chosen from the following interdisciplinary offerings:
