Notes:

For the appropriate ACTC geography methodology course, please confer with program director.

Students who anticipate earning the social studies major should meet with the social studies program director as early as possible. If you are also seeking Secondary Social Studies licensure, also see Education department listings for required education courses. If you are seeking an Elementary License with a 5-8 Social Studies content specialty, please confer with the director and see Education department listings for further details.

Please Note: Those adding just the 5-8 social studies concentration to their K-6 license must take either HIST 3000 or HIST 3010. However, these courses require a prerequisite course, and the licensure candidate is advised to take an American history course for that prerequisite.
