ART 3510 - Intermediate Sculpture



Goals: To learn the fundamental principles of three-dimensional perception. To learn to apply basic techniques and principles to making sculpture. To introduce a variety of sculpture material, including clay, plaster, metal, stone and wood. To introduce the processes of sculpture, including modeling, casting, carving and construction.

Content: The elements of sculpture, concepts of form and space, aesthetic theory, mold-making and casting, development of the individual aesthetic. Technical processes as required by individual projects (stone carving, woodcarving, wax working, plaster, etc.).

Prerequisite: ART 1510.

Credits: 4 credits
