ART 3300 - Intermediate Ceramics



Goals: To provide the necessary skills and technical vocabulary for forming, glazing, decorating, and firing pottery and to form the basis for an aesthetic understanding of pottery within the larger context of art.

Content: Basic skills for making pottery on the potter’s wheel and handbuilding with slabs and coils; decorating, glazing, and firing techniques; ideas and attitudes for understanding pottery aesthetics in a contemporary, social and historical context.

Prerequisite: ART 1300.

Credits: 4 credits
