BIOL 5760 - Immunology
Goals: To learn about immune system development, function and disorders. To explore how biotechnology is used in immunological research and therapy. To practice writing skills.
Content: History and theories of immunology, antibody structure and synthesis, humoral and cellular immune responses, discussion of laboratory techniques, host-parasite interactions, immuno-deficiency disease, allergies, histocompatibility and transplantation immunology. Taught: Alternate years, fall term. Prerequisites: BIOL 3050 and 3060.
