LAW 9526 - Business of Lawyering The private practice of law is a business, and new lawyers‑‑in both small and large law firms alike‑‑must understand the law firm business model and operations in order to thrive. This course will introduce students to the elements of a successful law practice: choice of business entity, business and financial planning, billing and collection, space, staffing, technology, marketing and client relations. Special attention will be given to the challenge of starting a solo or small firm practice.
