ENCM 3450-3490 - Studies in Communication & Cultural Rhetorics Goals: To develop tools for understanding, and experiences to demonstrate/practice, culturally-responsive rhetorical efficacy. To develop and practice capacity (as communicators) in specific vocational and civic/community contexts – with a particular focus on developing skills in advocacy/leadership.
Content: An intensive examination of the role difference and cultural contexts inform effective rhetorical choices and practice. Topics vary from year to year. Recent examples: Intercultural Communication; Usability and User Advocacy; Cultural Rhetorics of Land and Place.
A student may register for this course more than once for different topics.
