EDUC 7206 - Practicum in College Counseling The practicum portion of the certificate program will guide students to exercise course application with an appropriate student/client age group. Students will complete 65 hours of supervised fieldwork in a local counseling venue. Fieldwork must consist of individual counseling and/or a pre-approved project. Students will also complete the 12-week online portion of the course in which practicum experiences are shared with colleagues and reviewed by the instructor. The volunteer hours may be combined with a research project, but at least 45 hours must be completed on-site. This course will also help you acquire the knowledge and resources to advise students, families, and re-entry adults seeking financial support for a range of postsecondary pursuits.
NOTE: This course is required for completion of the College Admissions Counseling Certificate.
Prerequisites: EDUC 7201, EDUC 7202, EDUC 7203, and EDUC 7204.
