How do we continue building a world in which we want to live with a clear-eyed understanding of the opportunities and challenges that attend our ecosphere of information overload and misinformation? This interdisciplinary minor prepares students for strategic leadership in our rapidly changing, complex communication landscape. The curriculum uniquely prepares graduates for real world communication decision-making, media planning, marketing, and management by integrating theory- and skills-based learning and the application of emerging trends in media technology and communication.
The minor culminates in a professional practice experience and provides specialized training in areas such as organizational communication and marketing, nonprofit communication and advocacy, and technical communication and science writing.
The minor is six courses (20 credits); students must complete at least three courses that do not count towards their major.
