MUS 3041 - Advanced Audio Mixing

In this course, students will learn to mix and create templates in digital (Pro Tools) and hybrid situations. Labs will emphasize the use of advanced plugins such as dynamic EQs, frequency-specific distortion, and AI tools. Students will also operate and document analog gear on the mix bus, instrument buses, and vocal buses. Assignments also include editing advanced multitrack sessions for pitch, timing, and song structure. Finally, students will automate plugins, volume, and pans to create dynamic and immersive mixes.

Prerequisite: MUS 1041, grade of C- or higher
