ART 3950 - The Artist as Citizen, The Citizen as Artist

A seminar course crafted to support students in the arts (broadly) in professional development, career preparation, and most importantly in articulating the strengths gleaned from focused study in the arts. Through readings in theory and praxis we explore how we carry the arts, in practice and epistemology, into a variety of career paths. Readings, portfolio review, attending performances and gallery shows throughout the local arts scene in the Twin Cities all contribute to charting how we understand our thinking, our education, our experience in the construction of self as an artist in our contemporary landscape.
