Chinese Minor

Minor Requirements

Five courses in Chinese beyond CHIN 3120:

• CHIN 3600 - Advanced Intermediate Chinese I
• CHIN 3620 - Advanced Intermediate Chinese II
• Three additional advanced courses in Chinese or about Chinese culture and civilization, with the prior approval of the Chinese program director and the department chair. A maximum of one course may be taught in English (see, for example, relevant offerings in Hamline’s Religion, Anthropology and East Asian Studies programs). Advanced Chinese language courses may be taken at the University of Minnesota, or students may participate in an approved study abroad program in China prior to the last year of attendace at Hamline (Senior year).
