Contemporary Music Production Minor

Return to {$returnto_text} Return to: All Academic Programs

The Minor in Contemporary Music Production blends and balances coursework in hard skills development in two technical areas - audio technology and music performance, and a contextual course in contemporary music culture. Students completing the curriculum will learn to use tools that facilitate communication and connection to their diverse communities, as well as serve personal creative growth. The CMP Minor provides the student with specialized knowledge that can be the catalyst for cross-disciplinary work. The unique skills will make portfolios pop and opportunities expand for students in Education, Anthropology, Psychology, Marketing, Religion, Creative Writing, and Studio and Digital Media Arts, as well as other areas of study. Transferable soft skills are developed as well - to  collaborate, present, organize, be creative, and meet deadlines and stay motivated to pursue long term goals.
