Major Program

The Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration degree is designed to complement the liberal studies of Hamline University by providing students with breadth and depth of understanding in core business disciplines.  Students will develop theoretical knowledge and practical application skills in economics, finance, management, marketing, and related disciplines.  Students will also develop their analytical, communication and interpersonal skills.  These skills will enable students to more effectively utilize their liberal education and business knowledge to make both immediate and lasting impacts at work and in their communities.

Students who major in business administration will also select an area of concentration to further their depth of knowledge and to help them prepare for specific career fields.  Students can select concentrations in finance, international business, marketing, and management.  Students can also select a concentration in general business if they are interested in obtaining a broad background in business administration without a high degree of specialization in any one area.  All business administration students are encouraged to explore internship and study abroad opportunities.

Double Majors and Minors

It is possible to have double majors and minors in business administration and economics; however, the elective courses used to fulfill either the business or the economics major requirements may not also be used as part of a minor or double major in the other field. Additional business and economics electives will be required.
