ESL 7519 - Linguistics for Language Teachers Study language in all its complexity! This is a broad, applied introduction to the study of language including morphology (word forms), syntax (sentence structure), semantics (meaning), and phonetics/phonology (pronunciation), as well as the social and cognitive dimensions of language. Study the application of linguistic skills to language instruction and the use of technology in teaching, in addition to an introduction to graduate-level research and Internet skills in a two-hour in-class library orientation.
Credits (4 credits) Target audience: teachers K-12.
