LGST 3690 - Courts and Testimony Goals: By the end of the class each student will be able to demonstrate:
- Familiarity with legal and psychological terminology, concepts and theories pertaining to forensic psychology;
- Familiarity with the legal process, particularly relating to evidence, expert witnesses, and juries;
- Critical thinking skills necessary to identify and analyze issues in hypothetical fact situations.
Content: As a component of the concentration in forensic psychology, this four-credit course provides an interdisciplinary perspective on the role of courts and testimony in the legal system, including selected evidentiary issues, the identification, selection, and preparation of expert witnesses, and jury selection.
