ESL 8100 - Introduction to Applied Linguistics This course provides a broad, applied introduction to the study of language including morphology (word forms), syntax (sentence structure), semantics (meaning), phonetics and phonology (the sounds of language). The application of linguistic analysis skills to language instruction is addressed. Graduate-level research skills are addressed in the context of writing the advance to candidacy paper.
