GPA 8243 - Public Negotiation and Mediation This course’s focus is on mediation as an element of the negotiation process. It will concentrate on the role of the mediator as a neutral facilitator within the conflict resolution process. The course includes lectures, discussions, and mediation and negotiation exercises that give participants an opportunity to acquire essential skills and familiarize themselves with mediation and negotiation procedures. This course also explores major themes in negotiation theory and practice, including distributive versus integrative bargaining, personality styles, multi-party negotiation, and ethical issues.
