ESL 7650 - Basics of Modern English An overview of English grammar designed for teachers of ESL grades K-12. Develop an understanding of the basics of English grammar both descriptively and pedagogically, particularly in areas that cause difficulties for learners of English as a Second Language. Improve your skills at error analysis and your ability to effectively incorporate grammar instruction into your classroom in a way that is meaningful and interesting to your learners. NOTE: Should be taken after or concurrently with a linguistics course.
Credits (4 credits) Target audience: ESL teachers, current or prospective.
